The challenge

In wound treatment/management there is currently no standardised way that dressings are evaluated. Whilst test standards for wound care dressings exist, they are limited and not always clinically relevant. Different dressing performance parameters are considered but are not comprehensive and do not always reflect performance in clinical practice. This can lead to consequences in care and the use of resources – risk of wound deterioration, delayed healing and decreased quality of life, as well as excessive expenditure.

Our vision

To provide insight into the need and promote a consistent and standardised approach for assessing, selecting and purchasing bordered foam dressings for wound treatment/management. This work should drive holistic and measurable performance parameters to optimise clinical and cost-effectiveness outcomes and enhanced quality of care
